Box Shadow Generator — Design CSS Shadows Visually
Create perfect CSS box-shadow effects with a live visual editor. Drag sliders to control offset, blur, spread, and color, stack multiple shadow layers for depth, toggle inset shadows, and copy the ready-to-use CSS. No more guessing pixel values.
The four box-shadow values
- Offset X: horizontal distance — positive moves the shadow right, negative left
- Offset Y: vertical distance — positive moves it down, negative up
- Blur: how soft the shadow edge is (0 = sharp, high = very soft)
- Spread: grows (positive) or shrinks (negative) the shadow size
Features
- Live preview: see the shadow on a sample element instantly
- Color + opacity: pick any color and fine-tune transparency
- Inset shadows: create inner shadows for pressed or recessed effects
- Multiple layers: stack several shadows for realistic, layered depth
- Clean CSS output: copy a single property ready to paste
Tips for realistic shadows
- Real shadows are usually soft — use a generous blur and low opacity (10–25%)
- Layer two or three shadows (a tight dark one + a wide soft one) for natural depth
- Keep the light direction consistent across your whole interface
- Subtle is better — heavy shadows look dated
