Binary Code Translator — Text ⇄ Binary
Convert any text into binary code, or decode binary back into readable text. The tool uses UTF-8, so accents, non-Latin scripts and emoji round-trip perfectly. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
How to use it
- Text to Binary: type or paste text; each character becomes its 8-bit byte(s)
- Binary to Text: paste binary (with or without spaces); it is decoded back to text
- Swap flips the direction and moves the result into the input for round-trips
- Separator lets you join bytes with a space, nothing, or a line break
What is binary code?
Computers store every character as a number, and every number as a sequence of bits — 0s and 1s. A single byte holds 8 bits and can represent 256 values. The letter “A”, for example, is 65, or 01000001 in binary.
Notes
When decoding, only 0 and 1 characters are read, so spacing and line breaks are ignored. The bit count must be a multiple of 8.
