HTML Color Picker

Use the visual color picker to select any color, then instantly copy its HEX, RGB or HSL value. The contrast ratio against white and black backgrounds is calculated automatically — useful for checking accessibility (WCAG).

Color formats

  • HEX (#rrggbb): 6-digit hexadecimal, the most common CSS format.
  • RGB (r, g, b): red, green, blue channels from 0–255.
  • HSL (hue, saturation, lightness): intuitive for programmatic color manipulation.

Contrast ratio (WCAG)

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define minimum contrast ratios between text and background:

  • 4.5:1 — minimum for normal text (AA level)
  • 3:1 — minimum for large text (AA level)
  • 7:1 — enhanced contrast for small text (AAA level)

Color history

Every color you select is saved in the palette below the picker, so you can quickly return to any color you’ve used in the current session.
