Image Color Extractor — Get the Palette from Any Image
Upload any image and instantly extract its dominant color palette. Get the Hex and RGB code for each color, copy them individually, or export the whole palette as ready-to-use CSS variables. Perfect for designers building a color scheme from a photo, logo, or inspiration image.
Features
- Dominant color detection: uses median-cut quantization to find the most representative colors
- Adjustable count: extract anywhere from 4 to 12 colors
- Hex and RGB: every color comes with both codes, click to copy
- Export options: copy as CSS variables (
--color-1,--color-2…) or a plain Hex list - Sorted by dominance: the most prominent colors appear first
Common uses
- Building a website color scheme from a brand logo or photograph
- Matching design elements to an existing image
- Creating gradients or themes inspired by a picture
- Extracting brand colors when you don’t have the original specs
- Generating a palette for data visualizations or presentations
How it works
The tool scales your image down, samples the pixels, and groups similar colors together using a median-cut algorithm. Each group’s average color becomes one swatch in your palette. The colors are ranked by how many pixels they represent, so the most dominant tones appear first.
Privacy
All color extraction happens in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image is never uploaded to any server.
