Sitemap XML Generator — Help Search Engines Find Every Page

Generate a valid XML sitemap from a simple list of URLs. A sitemap tells search engines which pages exist on your site and how often they change, helping them crawl and index your content more efficiently. Paste your URLs, set the defaults, and copy or download the ready-to-use sitemap.xml.

What is an XML sitemap?

An XML sitemap is a file that lists the important pages of your website. It follows the sitemaps.org protocol and lives at your site root (e.g. https://example.com/sitemap.xml). Search engines like Google and Bing read it to discover pages they might otherwise miss.

The sitemap fields

  • loc: the full URL of the page (required)
  • lastmod: the date the page was last modified (helps search engines recrawl changed pages)
  • changefreq: how often the page is likely to change (a hint, not a command)
  • priority: the relative importance of the page (0.0 to 1.0) compared to your other pages

Features

  • Bulk input: paste any number of URLs, one per line
  • Auto https:// added to URLs missing a scheme
  • Toggle fields: include or omit lastmod, changefreq, and priority
  • Live URL counter with a warning past the 50,000-URL limit
  • Valid XML: properly escaped and formatted to the sitemaps.org standard

How to use your sitemap

  • Download sitemap.xml and upload it to your website’s root directory
  • Reference it in your robots.txt: Sitemap: https://example.com/sitemap.xml
  • Submit it in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools for faster discovery
