CRC32 Hash Generator
Generate CRC32 checksums from any text instantly. Shows hex, decimal and binary output. Works fully offline.
CRC32 Hash Generator
Compute the CRC32 checksum of any text string instantly. The result is shown in hexadecimal (the standard format), decimal, and 32-bit binary. CRC32 updates in real time as you type.
What is CRC32?
CRC32 (Cyclic Redundancy Check, 32-bit) is a checksum algorithm designed to detect accidental changes to data. It produces a fixed 4-byte (32-bit) value — always 8 hexadecimal characters — from any input, no matter how long.
Common uses
- File integrity: verify a downloaded file has not been corrupted — CRC32 is printed alongside many software downloads.
- Network protocols: Ethernet, ZIP, PNG and many other formats use CRC32 in their headers to detect transmission errors.
- Database deduplication: quickly detect whether two strings differ without storing both in full.
- Game modding: many game engines use CRC32 to identify assets by name.
CRC32 vs cryptographic hashes
CRC32 is not a cryptographic hash. It is fast and simple but provides no collision resistance — it is trivial to construct two different strings with the same CRC32. For security purposes (passwords, signatures), use SHA-256 or SHA-3 instead.
